When Meera Subramanya watched her washer break under the weight of soggy towels, she didn’t just replace the appliance—she reinvented the items that broke it in the first place.

What began as a mom’s frustration with endless laundry became Haseru: a brand that blends traditional Indian textile traditions with modern-day practicality. The result? Towels that are lightweight, sand-free, quick-drying, compact, and crafted with deep intention.

Meera’s story is one of true entrepreneurial innovation. Armed with plenty of mom-sense and community support—she began sourcing fabrics, testing prototypes with friends, and gathering real-time feedback from dozens of families. Eventually, she found a family-run textile partner in Southern India who could meet her high standards for softness, function, and ethical production.

Haseru towels are now beloved by RV owners, beachgoers, surfers, gym users, boaters, and even law enforcement officers looking for a dry towel that actually dries. Measuring as large six feet long yet still folding down to the size of a water bottle, Haseru’s signature product eliminates bulky laundry and energy waste. In Meera’s words, “It dries like a t-shirt and saves resources with every use.”

But Haseru isn’t just practical—it’s personal. For every five towels sold, the company donates one to nonprofits supporting women and children in safe havens and shelters. Meera shared the sense that Haseru isn’t just a business—it’s a way to help!

Haseru may have started at the kitchen table, but it’s now growing fast—through street fairs, outdoor shows, and most importantly, word of mouth from repeat customers.

Because when you build a product from lived experience, tested with love, and rooted in community—scaling becomes the next chapter in a story already full of purpose.
